Mary E. Cumberland, 93 of Connellsville (Bullskin Twp.), passed away at her home on Friday December 19, 2020. Mary was born January 4, 1927 in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of the late Robert L. and Lyda Creighton Bowman. Mary was a member of the Paradise United Methodist Church where she was a very active volunteer and, until recently, the oldest member of the church. She was also an active member of the Community Ministries of Connellsville. Surviving is her daughter, Candy Cumberland Leslie of MD; a granddaughter, Katrina Leslie; nieces, Connie Bowman, Linda Wettgen (George III) and Lori Bowman (Joyce Cooper); a sister, Frances Barko, numerous other nieces and nephews and dear friends, Thelma Hoke and Eleanor Poorbaugh. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Cumberland, son-in-law, Michael Leslie; siblings, Margaret Barko, Geraldine Collins, Dorothy Hostetler, Clara Barko, Ethel Bowman, Robert, Herbert, Braden, Melvin and Kenneth Bowman. A private service will be held for the family on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at SALOOM-REGA FUNERAL SERVICE 730 W. Main Street Mt. Pleasant. Private interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Mary you always treated me like a daughter when you and your family lived in laurel md - I spent many days and sleep overs with Candy your daughter - you and Chuck was like another set of parents to me I love you dearly one day we will all meet again I'm pretty sure Chuck was waiting for you at your homecoming along with many others
My heart goes out to Candy and Kathrina you both are in my thoughts daily I love you

You will always be remembered by me - you treated me like a daughter - I spent many days and even spent many nights sleep overs at your house in Laurel Md with My dear friend Candy - you and Chuck was like second set of parents to me and Candy like a sister - you always did whatever you could to help other's but hardly ever ask for help when you needed it - I bet your home coming was wonderful I bet Chuck was right there waiting on you - I love you so much one day we will all meet again

My deepest sympathy to the Bowman family who took very good care of Mary.
Mary was a very dear and wonderful friend who I will miss very much. In her better days, we would go out to lunch and go shopping. Just recently we had a wonderful phone conversation. I know you are in heaven.

Aunt Mary was a dear person. My last memory is talking with her on Thanksgiving Day. We shared a few words and a laugh She loved the annual Bowman Reunion to visit with family. God Bless and keep her. Love, Carol
