Marie E. Sargent, 76 of Mount Pleasant passed away Tuesday January 11, 2022 at Excela Heath Frick Hospital with her family at her side. Marie was born March 16, 1945 in Mount Pleasant the daughter of the late John and Frances Hudec Horak.. She was a 1963 graduate of Scottdale High School, attended Robert Morris College and Westmoreland County Community College. She was formerly employed by Lenox Crystal and a retired medical secretary for Excela Health. Marie was a member of the former Wesley Methodist Church, holding the office as secretary and a member of the bell choir and currently a member of the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. Marie was also a member of the Mt. Pleasant Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Marie will be sadly missed by her children David Sargent and wife Heather of Penn Twp. and Karen Bosas and husband Todd of Mt. Pleasant; her grandchildren, who were the loves of her life, Kayla and Brandon King and Brooke Sargent ; step grandchildren, Michael (Jordan), Jordan and Shana Bosas; brothers, John W. Horak (Judy) of Mt. Pleasant and Larry Horak (Cindy) of Enfield, CT, and brother-in-law, Edward Sargent (Pat) of Lancaster. In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Henry Frank "Sarge" Sargent and brothers-in law, Louis and Wilmer (Butch) Sargent. The family is welcoming friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm Friday to SALOOM-REGA FUNERAL SERVICE 730 W. MAIN STREET MT. PLEASANT where services will be held at 11am Saturday with Pastor Bob Ellson, officiating. Interment will follow in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery. The Mt. Pleasant Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary will conduct a memorial service at 7pm Friday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Marie may be made to the Mt. Pleasant Methodist church Bell Choir. Please visit Marie's online memorial at www.saloom-rega.com to sign the condolence guestbook.

My deepest condolences I don't believe I ever saw Marie without a smile ! One of the sweetest people I have ever met. I married into this family, and they are GOOD people. Praying for Karen and Dave. I wish her peace and love, and know that I believe she is in heaven reuniting with her husband "Sarge". May she rest in peace...

Sorry for your lose. But glad that my mother got to speak with her not long ago. And I got to partake in the chat a bit. It was so nice to hear the smile in her voice as I saw it on my mothers face. She is missed by her family and friends dearly.

Please accept my sincerest sympathies on the loss of your mother. Another friendly face I will miss seeing driving about Mt Pleasant. She was somewhat a staple of our little town to me since we were kids. She was involved with so much. Please find comfort in your many wonderful memories. They're yours to have forever.
