Charles E. "Ed" Schmitz Obituary

Charles E. "ED" Schmitz, 85, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Monday, Nov. 8, 2021, at Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville.

Ed was born April 8, 1936, in Bessemer, East Huntingdon Township, the son of the late James and Minnie Ohm Schmitz. He was a 1954 graduate of East Huntingdon High School and was formerly employed by various automobile dealers in the area as a mechanic, retiring from Meegan Ford.

Surviving are his children, Donald Schmitz and wife, Sharon, of Butler, Patti Murphy and husband, Larry, Edwin Schmitz and Patty Domenico and Connie Gentry and husband, Shawn, all of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Rachel and Nicole Schmitz and Natasha and Jack Gentry. In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret, brothers, Jim and Dick Schmitz, and sisters, Ruth Ann and Connie Schmitz.

To honor Ed's request, private services will be held for the family. Arrangements are under direction of SALOOM-REGA FUNERAL SERVICE, 730 W. Main St., Mt. Pleasant.
